Your conference in Bruges
Together with our partners, Bruges is always actively looking for solutions to keep the ecological footprint of business travel as low as possible. Bruges is easily accessible by train from the airports in Zaventem and Charleroi. The train station is located near the historic city center. And because our UNESCO World Heritage City is so compact, you can walk from your hotel to the conference venue and enjoy ancient sights along the way in a green and safe environment. With a choice of these 3rd party certified
Green Key locations, you are one step closer to organizing a sustainable conference.
How can you leave a positive handprint and give back to the community? The City of Bruges works together with Greentripper. This tool calculates the climate impact of your business trip. For emissions you can contribute to climate projects that the City of Bruges supports.
Contribute to the CO2e impact of your travel
One cookstove saves trees, hundreds save forests.
Support a Gold Standard certified climate project in Benin. The project aims to reduce deforestation, by the distribution of efficient cookstoves that reduce the use of wood and/or charcoal by 50%. Thanks to these projects, it is possible to reduce the pressure on local forests and biodiversity, to support families, to stimulate economic activity and to improve the health situation.

The Bengo'o Forest, a green lung in Ebolowa
Due to the rapidly growing population in our partner city Ebolowa, Cameroon, more and more tropical forest is being encroached upon. To prevent this, green protected areas are designated, such as the Bengo'o valley, where construction is prohibited. With your contribution, 17,000 trees will be planted in this 25-hectare zone. The Bengo'o Forest will become the ecological lung of Ebolowa, reducing greenhouse gases in the city and contributing to its unique biodiversity.
