The Act4Travel Scanner combines AI and smart calculation to turn any travel document into a complete carbon footprint report. You upload a travel document (brochure, itinerary or program), and it returns a full carbon footprint analysis covering transport, accommodation, activities, food and waste.

• ‍Who is the Act4Travel Scanner for?

Tour operators, travel agencies, DMCs, MICE organisers, and any travel business that wants to measure, compare, act and report on the carbon footprint of its (business) travels.

• ‍What methodology does the Act4Travel Scanner use?

It's mainly based on ADEME's Bilan Carbone® methodology and DEFRA emission factors, two internationally recognised standards for greenhouse gas accounting. The emission factors are reviewed and updated at least once a year. You can also add your own emission factors to your account, and find full details on the methodology directly in the tool.

• ‍How does the AI extract data from a travel document?

‍The AI module reads the uploaded documents and identifies key trip details: destinations, transport types, accommodation nights, activities,... This data is then sent to Greentripper's carbon footprint calculator, which applies verified emission factors. The AI only extracts information; it does not calculate the footprint itself.

• ‍How long does it take to get a result?

‍A first carbon footprint analysis can be generated within seconds to minutes after upload, depending on document length and how much manual review is needed.

• ‍What is the eco-score?

‍The eco-score is a rating from 1 to 10 based on a trip's daily carbon intensity (kg CO₂e per traveller per day). A score of 10 means very low intensity (under 10 kg CO₂e per person per day); a score of 1 means high intensity (over 450 kg CO₂e per person per day).

• ‍Can I act on the emissions a trip can't avoid?

‍Yes. For remaining emissions, you can support certified climate projects (Gold Standard / VCS) in the Global South and Europe, and receive a guarantee certificate for every contribution. We also support environmental initiatives such as mangrove planting, coral restoration, and education projects.
